So, I came and checked up on my account and I couldn't believe I hadn't put this up yet. I mean really, how could you do Book of Mormon Fan Art without doing Mormon himself? I'm so disappointed with me.

Anywho, I'm a slightly ambivalent about this piece. When I originally drew it, his face was meant to show some pain because, well, it turns out his life sucks and he probably has very few friends (something all teenagers can think they relate to). Anyway, as I come back now he just looks a little stuck up maybe. It kind of goes back and forth between cold nobility and pathos.

I wouldn't say that Mormon's life 'sucked', per say. He really was an amazing man (leading an entire army at sixteen?!), and despite not having the righteous mortal company he deserved, he was ministered to by the three Nephites, and likely countless others. When you have Christ on your side, you don't ever have to be alone.

I see this, though, and I want to cry, because his expression brings to mind what I think is the saddest part of the Book of Mormon, when he cries "Oh, ye fair ones..."

Aside from his expression, I really love his armor. Gorgeously designed.
